"It is the mission of Harwood Union High School to provide an educational and creative environment in which every person is valued as an individual, challenged as a learner and inspired to contribute to a democratic society. As a professional learning organization of all academic departments, we are prepared to work together in order to provide a unique and personalized learning experience for all students."

Sustainability Club

Sustainability Club meets on Tuesday mornings at 7:30 in the Lecture Hall. It is a club dedicated to making Harwood and the greater community more sustainable. An ongoing project includes a “ban the bottle” campaign at Harwood to eliminate single serve plastic water bottles. Other club projects involve community outreach about paper usage, investigation of rain gardens at Harwood, and fundraising for reusable water bottles to be sold at Harwood. The Club won an award at the LEAP energy fair in the spring of 2016 and received recognition from Bernie Sanders. Sustainability Club is always looking for new members with  ideas about how to make Harwood and the greater community a greener, more sustainable environment! If you are interested or have any questions, please email Anneka Williams ([email protected]) or Colin Fennelly ([email protected]).
