Harwood UHS  1990-Present

A native of Vermont and graduate of South Burlington High School, Chris attended the Crane School of Music, SUNY Potsdam and The Florida State University earning degrees in Music Education.  His teachers include David Brubaker, George Bedell, Anthony Maiello and James Croft.  Chris is current in his 26th year as Band Director at Harwood Union High School where the program was awarded a prestigious Grammy Signature School Award.   Chris is also adjunct faculty at UVM where he instructs each summer.  

The Harwood Music Program will be completing it’s 11th recording project in May of 2016.  Chris has earned honors as Teacher of the Year, and was recipient of the 2013 VSO Guild of Supporting Players Honorary Conductor Award for Outstanding Contributions to Music Education.  Chris has served as District IV Chair and Treasurer, and as liaison to the VMEA Executive Committee.  Chris is an active performer, conductor, and educator – performing and throughout Vermont with many organizations including Inora Brass, Constitution Brass Quintet, Bach Winds, Mozart Festival and the Vermont Symphony.
