I am currently teaching 8th grade social studies, which has a focus on American history. During 8th grade students have opportunities to learn about how historical events connect to today and make connections to their own lives. I received my Master’s degree from Saint Michael’s College with a concentration in Curriculum. In addition, my Bachelor’s degree is from the University of Wisconsin Madison where I majored in history.

I am a part of the Harwood Union Leadership Team and a recipient of a Rowland fellowship in 2013. As an educator, I believe in student choice and voice in the classroom as well as making learning engaging for students. A vital element to middle level education is building relationships with students, which is at the core of my educational philosophy. My personal interests are steeped in the outdoors of Vermont and spending time adventuring with my family.
