"It is the mission of Harwood Union High School to provide an educational and creative environment in which every person is valued as an individual, challenged as a learner and inspired to contribute to a democratic society. As a professional learning organization of all academic departments, we are prepared to work together in order to provide a unique and personalized learning experience for all students."

I am currently teaching 9th grade English and 9th grade Honors English, as well as serving on Harwood’s Leadership Team and spearheading the Hip-Hop Lyricist’s Lounge, the funkiest H-block activity in Vermont. I received my Master’s from St. Michael’s College with a concentration in Arts in Education, and I studied English and Philosophy at Skidmore College. During my career as a teacher, I have practiced and refined my ability to meet each student where they are, provide engaging ideas, texts, and tasks to explore, and build flexibility into my lessons and units in order to help each student maximize their learning. I am a strong proponent of teaching students to collaborate, think critically, and tap into their creative powers. On a personal level, I stay energized by exploring the wilds, back-roads, trails, slopes, rivers, and lakes of Vermont with my family. I also have a passion for travel, music, and making amateurish abstract art.
