Mark Your Calendars - September 11th &12th: → We are excited to remind everyone about our fall speaker and incredible presentation by Cindy Pierce.

Cindy Pierce is an author, educational speaker, sexuality educator, comic storyteller, innkeeper and mom of three young adults. Combining years of research with her storytelling skills, she engages audiences with her message about making healthy choices and navigating cultural pressures, both online and off. It has become increasingly challenging for young people to feel at ease, worthy and relevant as they attempt to find balance in their busy lives.

Attendance: Being on time and prepared for school and class matters! Over the first couple weeks of school (and beyond), our team is available to help you navigate the building, learn the bells, and know your schedule so you can be where you need to be, on time, and ready to go!

  • Reminder: Student attendance is taken at the beginning of class, after the second bell.

***If your student is going to be absent, tardy, and/or dismissed early from any school day, remember to fill out our Attendance Form, also found on the front page of our Harwood Website.

Welcome back to school!

Here is the link to our website. From there, you can navigate to medication forms, allergy emergency forms, and asthma action plans as well as resources.

The HUUSD have published back-to-school bus routes here: huusd.org/bus-routes

Throughout the school year, that page will display the most up-to-date bus route information.

WHAT DO I DO IF I DON'T SEE MY STOP? Steps:

  1. Email Danial.Sargeant@firstgroup.com SUBJECT LINE Missing Bus Stop

  2. Complete returning student registration, IF a returning student. New students this year do NOT need to complete returning student registration. (We have your data.)

Free & Reduced Lunch application

n School Year 2023-2024, all students will receive free breakfast and lunch at school. The State of Vermont has provided money to do this for one year through the Universal School Meals Act. Please remind your student(s) that meals are limited to one meal per person.

We need your help to keep providing free meals to all students in future years, as well as making our school and community eligible for other benefits. Please review this application for free and reduced price school meals and complete it if you believe your family might be eligible. If all eligible families fill out and return this form, we will get more money from the federal government for free school meals now and in the future.

Please find the application on this site. Please print and return to Harwood. Applications will also be sent home at the start of the year.

The School Counselors have been working hard to answer all student schedule change requests that came in over the summer. If students would like to adjust their schedule once school begins they can stop by the School Counseling Office or fill out the course change request form here.

The period to Add or Drop a course will occur throughout the first two weeks of school. Talk to your school counselor prior to September 8th for all change requests.

On Monday and Tuesday morning school counselors will be in the lobby handing out paper copies of schedules with lunch assignments to students as they arrive for their first day. We look forward to seeing you all then!
