The HUHS Fall Play is a non-musical theater experience for students in grades 9-12. Each year a different genre of theater is explored, and students are challenged to learn different acting styles and techniques, dialects and accents, and costume and make up design and application. Students can also choose to work behind the scenes on The Crew, where they learn set, lighting, and sound design and construction. Recent productions have included The Crucible, A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Good Woman of Setzuan, The Dining Room, A Christmas Carol, and As You Like It.
The 2016 production is The Bothers Grimm Spectaculathon. The fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm are turned on their heads in this fast-paced, rollicking ride as two narrators and several actors attempt to combine all 209 stories ranging from classics like Snow White, Cinderella, and Hansel and Gretel to more bizarre, obscure stories like The Devil's Grandmother and The Girl Without Hands. A wild, free-form comedy with lots of audience participation and madcap fun.
Show dates are November 10, 11, and 12 at 7:30. There will also be a 1:30 matinee on Nov. 12. Tickets will be available at the door. For more information email director Ruth Ann Pattee at firstname.lastname@example.org.
